Michigan Insurance Bureau, indicates that “bail agents must have an admitted surety company sponsor them to take and pass the fidelity and surety section of [the state] insurance agents licensing exam. Following the issuance of the license, the agents must meet the requirement of 30 hours continuing education every two years.” however, that there are presently “no statutes for the purpose of regulating . . . bail recovery agents.”
